Sebastian Williams claims the 2015 Quiksilver King of the Groms

Sebastian Williams has taken out the 2015 Quiksilver King of the Groms, in Fernando De Noronha, Brazil. The super final had ten contestants surfing in paradise. They were invited to impress the judging panel with fun factor, progressive surfing and creativity in the waves. The winner would cash in $20,000. The organization chose two different spots – Cacimba do Padre and Boldró – and there were two days of trials and four finalists: Sebastian Williams, Miguel Pupo, Vitor Mendes, and Kael Walsh. The 15-year-old Californian surfer living in South Africa stormed the competition with a flawless aerial surfing performance in the Brazilian island. Williams was ecstatic with the victory.

Paige Alms: The Wave I Ride

“It literally takes just one wave where you decide you’re going to do it. Just that one wave to be like – I did that, and I can do it again”. This is big wave surfer Paige Alms’ advice – at the screening of her documentary The Wave I Ride – to anyone who wants to surf bigger waves. Paige is the main woman at the forefront of a new era in surfing, one where women are taking on bigger and gnarlier swell than they ever thought possible. She wants to see more women giving it a go.

32 surfers drop into La Vaca Gigante Invitational 2015/2016

The organizers of La Vaca Gigante Invitational 2015/2016 have announced the list of 32 riders that will challenge on the liquid beasts of Santander, in the north of Spain.
Andrew Cotton, Aritz Aranburu, Axi Muniain, Eric Rebiere, Grant “Twiggy” Baker, Natxo González, Pablo Gutiérrez, and Tom Lowe are some of the invitees for this year’s edition.

Master of the Ocean 2016 returns to Cabarete

The 2016 Master of the Ocean will hit Cabarete, in the Dominic Republic, between February 23rd-28th.
The only water sports competition featuring surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) returns for its 14th edition. The event, which evolved from “Ironman of Watersports” to “Master of the Ocean” was founded by Marcus Bohm in 2013.
